3 Western-style cabins: Each cabin can accommodate up to 6 people and is tastefully decorated in a rustic Western style. From your cabin, you are surrounded by the soothing sounds of horses, birdsong, and the sounds of nature.

A Haven for Retired Horses
At Open Range, we hold a special place in our hearts for horses that have lived long and faithful lives. Whether they were stable horses, police horses, or beloved riding horses, we offer a loving home where they can enjoy their golden years.
Our retired horses spend their days in spacious pastures with comfortable shelters, surrounded by friends, and with unlimited access to hay and fresh water. Our experienced and dedicated staff provides twice-daily checks and extra feeding when needed, ensuring that each horse receives the best possible care.
We understand the special bond between owners and their horses. That's why we offer owners the opportunity to rent one of our cozy cottages, so they can visit their old companion regularly. In addition, we regularly send photos and updates via WhatsApp, so you are always informed about the well-being of your loyal friend.
With much love and dedication, we strive to make Open Range the ultimate place where retired horses can enjoy a well-deserved old age in peace and comfort.
Ranch-horse Breeding
At Open Range, our passion for horses is evident in everything we do, especially our small-scale Ranch Horse breeding operation. We take pride in breeding only a few foals each year, allowing us to provide the best possible care and attention to each one.
Our driving force is Rachel, whose love for balanced, calm, and cool-headed horses forms the foundation of our breeding program. We specialize in breeding the American Quarter Horse, specifically the true Ranch type. These horses are known for their larger, stronger build and their cool, relaxed temperament. They are true partners you can rely on, even on the most adventurous trail rides.
The foundation of our small-scale breeding operation is Hootie, an impressive stallion who has been with us since his third year. Hootie was born in Iowa (USA) and is a direct descendant of the legendary Joe Hancock and Blue Valentine bloodlines. Rachel has been immersed in these bloodlines for nearly 20 years. She has consistently observed the enthusiasm of every rider who experienced the relaxed attitude of these horses. In addition to their wonderful temperament, they are also exceptionally beautiful and intelligent.
In short, at Open Range, we breed fantastic, strong, and relaxed horses that are perfect for any adventure. Our horses are only sold to the perfect homes: places where they can roam freely in pastures with companions and have access to shelter, and where their owners share our passion. They are not sold to riding schools or individuals with only stables, and they are not intended for the Reining sport.
The foals are raised here in a herd setting and stay with their mothers for as long as possible. They can stay here until they are started under saddle. In exceptional cases, we sell them when they are a bit younger, only if we know they will be going back into a herd setting and will be trained with a gentle hand. Because once you've had a "Hootie," you'll never want to be without one: we hope that whoever buys one of our foals gains a friend for life.
